Dig Deep Charity Week- Monday 20th May 2019

A big thank-you to Alanna and Laiba from Year 5 for their fantastic efforts this week to encourage the family of Christ Church to raise money for the charity ‘Dig Deep’.  They started the week by leading worship and then worked hard fundraising with their ‘Estimation Station’.  The winners of the competition were Daniel and Olivia from Reception and Bailey in Year 5 and altogether they raised £84.61.

This could not be done without the support from our Christ Church community, thank-you everyone for your generosity.

The children wrote a prayer which I would like to share with you:

Dear Lord,

Thank-you for our clean water and safe homes.

Please help us to appreciate all of the little things in life because everything counts.

There are lots of unfortunate people in the world and we need to help them.

Please help us to put ourselves in their shoes and realise how hard it is not to have a family, a house or clean water.

Without clean water they could get ill or even worse it could kill them.

This week, give us strength to be positive and shine hope on us.

Amen

Red Nose Day 2019- Friday 15th March 2019

What a fabulous day we had in school supporting Comic Relief. We ditched our usual blue uniforms and word something red, had Red Nose Day biscuits for lunch and managed to raise an amazing £232.00. Well done everyone for providing HOPE to those in need and making a difference!

Year 6's Elf Day- Tuesday 11th December 2018 (Generosity in Action)

After finding out about dementia from their class reader, Year 6 asked if they could do some fundraising. Child driven, they baked and sold cakes, raising over £140!! They also visited the day centre on Etherstone Street where they chatted, danced, sang and played games with the elderly people. It was just magical to witness- we have the most special children and are so proud of them.

Children in Need- Friday 16th November 2018

A big spotty thank you to everyone involved in making our Children in Need day such a success. Everyone made such an effort in dressing up and we saw some very creative costumes. It was a great turn out by the children and parents who also lined St Helens Road outside school to cheer the BBC's One Show Team Rickshaw on.

The total amount we raised in school for Children in Need £226.00
